Four Nights Under Ijora Bridge, Then Music Mogul

Jude Okoye is a Nigerian music video director and businessman who became widely known as the former manager of the duo P-Square, which included his younger brothers. He is the eldest of three Okoye brothers in the entertainment world. Long before that, he arrived in Lagos hoping to build a life in music.

In a post on Instagram in July 2018, tagged as Monday motivation, he wrote that his first four nights in Lagos, in 1995, were spent under Ijora Bridge. He was stranded there, he said, because of the music hustle.

To survive in those first days, he worked every day as a bus conductor on the Ijora to Jibowu route. BellaNaija, which reported the post, described this as work he had to do to get by. Neither the post nor the reports available give a precise account of how long the difficult period lasted.
