Drawn scene — not a portrait

Armando Hernández is a Mexican actor who spoke about his adolescence in a 2022 interview with the presenter Yordi Rosado, as reported by Uno TV. He traces the hardest part of his youth to his parents' divorce, which happened when he was 11. After the separation his mother left, and he and his sister were left without support.

As a teenager he lived on the street. He said that at times he ate from the rubbish in order to survive. His sister eventually came to his rescue and he went to live with her. From there he began to work and to find his way towards television and film.

Before acting, he handed out flyers for a clothing factory, and the money paid for his studies. After making his stage debut, he was cast in 2001 in the film De la calle, in which he played a character named Cero. In 2002 he took part in Amarte duele, directed by Fernando Sariñana, in which he played Genaro. The film brought him national fame and won him a Diosa de Plata award.

In 2003 he joined the young cast of the Televisa telenovela Clase 406, and in 2006 he played the lead in Fuera del cielo, as the character known as El Cucú. His other films include Sangre de mi sangre, Rudo y Cursi, Te presento a Laura and Colosio: El asesinato. On television he has appeared in Capadocia, Mujeres asesinas, El Pantera and El encanto del águila.

At the time of the report he was taking part in the comedy programme Me caigo de risa.
